GAP İnşaat Constructs an International Seaport in Turkmenistan
Gap İnşaat Foundations of Türkmenbaşı International Seaport, which will be constructed by GAP İnşaat by the seashore of the Caspian Sea, have been laid by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan. The seaport, which is planned to be located as a significant logistic base connecting Europe to Asia, will be constructed on an area of 1.209.400 m2 with a budget of $1,5 billion and delivered within 4 years.
This seaport, the construction of which has begun in Avaza region- one of the important stops of the Silk Road-, will be built in compliance with the Green Port standards. Upon completion, Türkmenbaşı International Seaport is planned to offer employment opportunity to 4.000 people. The seaport will accommodate polypropylene, container, ferry and passenger terminals as well as general cargo and bulk cargo ports and a shipyard.
